You are visiting the webside of Polish Scout Troop from Krakow - 208 KDH 'HAKRATURY' im. Kazimierza Pułaskiego.
We are a only Boy's Troop, in which Scouts are 10 to 13 years old. But I need to start from the begining. Polish Scouting started in 1910, when Andrzej Małkowski began first Polish troop, after he translated Baden Powell's book 'Scouting for boys'.
Our team's start is dated on 1957 when in Krakow a new part of city was build up - Nowa Huta. In that section of the city then Scout troops, -tribes and -teams started working there too. One of tribes was 'Szczep Tęczowy' with 208 KDH 'HAKRATURY' with first leader - Józef Mruk. After the end of comunism in Poland, our troop(szczep) with ZHP (Polish Scout Organisation) in 1996 became member of WOSM.
After this short lesson of history, I would like to tell something more about us. After 50 years of existence, we have many Scout traditions. We have on each friday our troop meetings and like all Scouts in the world we play, have fun, teach and learn. The troop is specific, has it's own song which is always sung during big events. Our Scouts in the team have all the same T-shirt which shows that we are all together One team (almost like family). Ofcourse we love to play in forest and night games because we are only just boys.
If you want to know something more about us, Polish Scouting history or you want simply to meet Scouts from enother country, please write to my mail above. We will be glad to have some contacts with other Scouts, so see you again on our website!
